Our beach hotel is less than 100 metres from the fine sandy Baltic beach. Set slightly away from the tourist crowds, right at the start of the four kilometre long beach promenade and just a few minutes' walk from the West town centre, the Waldkrone is the ideal starting point for excursions and activities in and around Kühlungsborn.
It is also a perfect place for a stopover. Our Baltic hotel is close to the A20 motorway, and the ferry terminal in Rostock for the crossing to Gedser is only about 40 km or 30 minutes away by car. At the hotel, you can relax in the sauna or enjoy massages and beauty treatments.

Arriving by Car Plan your route
Kühlungsborn is about 20 km from the A20 motorway (exit Kröpelin).
The town is connected to the B105 federal road by three country roads. The B105 runs roughly east to west and links the Baltic cities of Stralsund, Rostock, Wismar and Lübeck.
If you arrive on the Scandlines ferry from Gedser, it is about 45 km or 35 minutes by car from the Rostock ferry port to the hotel. You can charge your electric car at our wallbox at the hotel, and 20 kWh are free of charge for hotel guests.
Arriving by Train Train "Molli"
Kühlungsborn has no direct connection to the Deutsche Bahn rail network. The nearest DB station is in Bad Doberan, about 14 km away, with hourly trains to Rostock and Wismar.
From Bad Doberan, the historic narrow gauge steam train Molli takes you via Heiligendamm to Kühlungsborn. The line is operated by Mecklenburgische Bäderbahn Molli GmbH & Co. and trains run roughly every two hours.
There are three Molli stops in Kühlungsborn: Ost, Mitte and West. Our hotel is closest to Kühlungsborn West station.

Arriving by Plane
The nearest airport is Rostock Laage, about 60 km from Kühlungsborn, which mainly handles charter and seasonal flights. The closest major international airports are Hamburg (approx. 200 km) and Berlin Brandenburg (approx. 280 km). From both, you can reach Rostock by train, from where a regional train takes you to Bad Doberan and the historic Molli steam train brings you directly to Kühlungsborn. Alternatively, a rental car will get you from Hamburg to Kühlungsborn in around two and a half hours.
About 10 km from the hotel is Zweedorf airfield, which is available to private pilots.
